Ceremony
Cameron and Jane will exchange their “I do’s” at the beautiful First Congregational Church of Los Angeles. First Congregational was founded in 1867 and is the oldest Protestant church in Los Angeles. The cathedral was designed by Los Angeles architects James E. and David C. Allison and opened in 1932. For more insightful information on the buildings history please visit this page. We are privileged to have the opportunity to spend our wedding day in such a blessed location. And hope our guests get to experience the same feeling of awe as we have in this glorious church.
Reception
Following the ceremony, we will kick off cocktail hour and dinner at the charming Majestic Hall in the heart of Downtown Los Angeles. The Majestic was built in 1921, designed by architectural firm Schultze & Weaver. The building formally occupied the 1st and original Bank of America from 1930-1972. It is a true one of a kind historical gem. So get ready to party like its 1929!
What ever will I wear…
Attire is formal, black tie optional. After all, how often do we get the chance to dress to the nines. This is a Vintage Glam Wedding, 1920′s, 30′s and 40′s attire are highly encouraged.
Ladies think evening gowns or maxi dresses, chiffon, lace and silk fabrics with beading or art deco designs. For those of you wanting to show a little leg, go for the obvious and flapper dress it up! Don’t forget to accessorize. Have fun with it. Half the fun is getting ready right.
Women’s shops:
ModCloth is my absolute favorite place to shop. They have wonderful vintage clothing that’s more than suitable for a vintage glam look.
Lulu’s is great for maxi dresses, a tad bit more on the modern side, but you can still find classy classic dresses.
Unique Vintage has amazing flapper dresses!
Gents you can go for the goal, wear a tux and pretend its prom night or you can be just as daring as the ladies. Wear a spunky bow tie and a bowler hat or a classic suit, vest and tie combo, maybe throw a pipe in there or some gloves. If you’re not into renting a tux visit the link below for some ideas. Sorry, I don’t have more tips for you, but men’s fashion never seems to change all that much. You can certainly find what you need at any suit shop or department store.
ReVamp has men’s fashion from the 1900′s to the 50′s.
